How Conscious Parenting changed my own life
For some reason I’ve always been the one that my friends came to for parenting advice. And although this felt simple enough when it came to things like how to get your kid to use the potty, some problems or questions were far more complex.
The more challenging problems I noticed were all rooted in the psychological nature of parenting.
Having always been someone who has sought answers to life’s big questions, I wanted to learn more about the psychology of parenting so that I could perhaps help others, as well as myself with some of the common struggles we all face as parents.
Motherhood had brought me to question myself and my own internal experience a lot. My need to be perfect, feeling not good enough, constantly feeling triggered by my kids, partner or family. Why was I experiencing all of this and how was it affecting how I was raising my children?
Feeling more and more overwhelmed and out of control led me to explore the path of conscious parenting and ultimately learning how to relate to myself with more love and compassion, which in turn completely shifted the way I relate to my children and family.
Training in Conscious Parenting led me to a much deeper understanding of many of my behaviours, feelings and patterns. It helped me understand where my pain came from and gave me the tools and courage to look within and face the darker parts of myself.
Ultimately, this journey allowed me to discover and understand that the external world is not in charge of my triggers, rather it was only activating what is not healed within myself.
I also discovered that my thoughts do not define me, and every moment I can choose how I behave, respond and react to situations.
I continue my journey to break generational patterns to free my children from burdens that do not belong to them. I no longer feel I need to be angry to protect myself. And I am now able to enjoy a fuller and happier life and nurture myself so I can be fully present for my kids.
Being a mother is the hardest and most important work I've ever done. And in this journey of discovery, I’ve found that creating balance and inner peace are key elements to my success.

Peace is this moment without judgement
That is all. This moment in the Heart-space
where everything that is is welcome.
Peace is this moment without thinking
that it should be some other way,
that you should feel some other thing,
that your life should unfold according to your plans.
Peace is this moment without judgement,
this moment in the Heart-space where
everything that is, is welcome.
